Supplier Spotlight: Bergs Potter

Bergs Potter – Timeless Danish Design Since 1942
Bergs Potter began in Copenhagen during the depths of WWII, when Victor Berg inherited a ceramics shop and decided to bring joy to the city by combining flowers with handcrafted pots. His shop quickly became a cherished part of the local community, eventually expanding across the city.

As the family grew, so did the business. Victor's children, Steffen and Sysser, inherited both his passion and creativity. Steffen handled the markets and stock, while Sysser brought a flair for design. Together, they laid the foundations for the brand’s unique blend of craftsmanship and storytelling.

A turning point came when the siblings discovered a beautifully aged pot in a garden shed — the inspiration behind their signature Copenhagen Pot. Their journey soon took them to Tuscany, where they partnered with skilled artisans to revive and preserve traditional terracotta pottery methods.

In 2012, a new generation took the reins. Victor Berg Jr., alongside family friends Martin and Frits, carried the legacy forward. Working long hours in a makeshift greenhouse-turned-warehouse, they packed pots by hand and learned the business from the ground up — all while holding down other jobs and studies.

What started as late-night packing sessions evolved into a thriving international brand. Bergs Potter moved to larger premises and today operates from a converted strawberry farm and a charming former pub in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.

Now sold across Europe, Asia and the US, every Bergs Potter piece is still lovingly made in Tuscany — blending Danish heritage, Italian artistry, and a deep respect for nature. Each pot is designed to last for generations, just like the story behind it.
